Living in Carrollton
Carrollton sits about eighteen miles north of Dallas, and it has something almost no other city around here shares: it is split across three counties, Dallas, Denton and Collin. That means the property tax and the school district can change from one street to the next inside the same city.
The city incorporated in 1913, though the town had been there since the railroad reached Trinity Mills in 1878. The name came from Carrollton, Illinois, where the first settlers were from.
The neighborhoods of Carrollton, Texas run from the historic square to subdivisions from the eighties and nineties, with newer construction in the north.
How I work in Carrollton
I'm Veronica Yeary, REALTOR® with All City Real Estate DFW. I've worked the whole Dallas-Fort Worth area since 2010, and I've walked more than 450 families through it.
I cover all of Carrollton, in all three counties, and every kind of home. The three counties aren't just a fun fact: they change what you pay in property tax and which school district the home belongs to, so here I always check which one the property falls in before you make an offer.
If you're buying in Carrollton, we start with your numbers and then look at the map carefully, because two similar homes a few blocks apart can carry different yearly costs. The general guide is in buying a home.
If you're selling in Carrollton, your home gets professional photography, video or drone depending on the property, its own website with its own address, paid ads on Facebook and Instagram, emails to my buyer list, postcards to the homes nearby and an open house, with a weekly report.
I'll walk you clearly through the process and every document you'll sign.
The neighborhoods of Carrollton
Carrollton Square is the historic square, the old downtown, with local businesses and its own train station a few steps away.
Trinity Mills is the area where it all started, where the railroad arrived in 1878, and today it has the station where two different lines meet.
Up north, near the Sam Rayburn, is the newest part of the city, with subdivisions from the 2000s on.
Depending on what you need: buying a home in Carrollton, selling your home in Carrollton, your first home in Carrollton, moving up in Carrollton, something smaller in Carrollton or what your Carrollton home is worth.
What kind of home you'll find
The most common is a one or two-story brick home from the eighties and nineties, with a backyard and mature trees. Near the square there are older streets, and up north there are townhomes and newer homes.
In Carrollton I work just as often with people buying their first home as with people who already own one and want a smaller, easier home to manage. That second one is in downsizing.
For your home's number, with comparables from your own street: what your home is worth.
What's nearby
Carrollton has three train stations, which is a lot for a city its size: North Carrollton/Frankford, Trinity Mills and Downtown Carrollton. DART's Green and Silver lines run through them, plus the A-train that goes up to Lewisville and Denton.
By car, I-35E heads down to Dallas, and the President George Bush Turnpike and the Sam Rayburn cross the south and the north.
The city borders Plano and sits minutes from Irving. Here are all the cities I work in. To talk about Carrollton, call or text me at 469-441-8890, email me at veronica@veronicayeary.com, or send me a message.
