Living in Highland Village

Highland Village is in Denton County, on the south shore of the westernmost arm of Lewisville Lake. Of its 6.5 square miles, almost one is water.

My office is here, at 2340 Justin Road, so this is the city I see every day. I work the whole metroplex, and this one in particular I can tell you about from memory.

The city incorporated on February 14, 1963 with just over five hundred residents, and it really grew after DFW Airport opened. It's still mostly residential, with retail arriving little by little.

How I work in Highland Village

I'm Veronica Yeary, REALTOR® with All City Real Estate DFW, and my office is right here on Justin Road.

I've worked the whole Dallas-Fort Worth area since 2010, with more than 450 families, and I cover all of Highland Village and every kind of home.

If you're buying here, the city is small and you can know all of it, so the conversation gets specific fast: which street, how close to the water, what's been done to that house. We start with your numbers and go from there. The general guide is in buying a home.

If you're selling here, your home gets professional photography, video or drone depending on the property, its own website with its own address, paid ads on Facebook and Instagram, emails to my buyer list, postcards to the homes nearby and an open house. Every week you get a report on what the people who came to see it said, and if you want to go over it in person, the office is a few blocks away.

I'll walk you clearly through the process and every document you'll sign.

The neighborhoods of Highland Village

The parks organize the city better than any list of neighborhoods.

Doubletree Ranch Park has a splash pad, a boardwalk over the wetland, a fishing pier, a playground and courts. Unity Park, on Briarhill Boulevard, is the community park, with baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, a roller hockey rink, a pond with a fishing pier and the big playground known here as Kids Kastle.

On the lake there are two: Pilot Knoll Park, with trails, a boat ramp and a camping area, and Copperas Branch Park, about 75 acres leased from the Army Corps of Engineers, with a ramp, a beach and a swimming area.

Depending on what you need: buying a home in Highland Village, selling your home in Highland Village, moving up in Highland Village, something smaller in Highland Village, luxury homes in Highland Village or what your Highland Village home is worth.

What kind of home you'll find

The city grew mostly from the eighties on, so the most common is a one or two-story brick home on a good-sized lot, with mature trees. Near the water there are larger properties and some custom-built homes.

Because it's a small city, only a little inventory moves at a time. That means two things: if you're buying, you need to be ready to act when the right house shows up, and if you're selling, you have less direct competition than you probably think. Both get planned, not improvised.

For your home's number, with comparables from your own street: what your home is worth.

What's nearby

Highland Village has a train. The Highland Village/Lewisville Lake station on the A-train opened in 2011 and connects toward Denton and toward Carrollton, where it links up with DART. There are also DCTA buses and, since 2021, an on-demand ride service you book through an app.

The lake is around the corner, with a beach, ramps and trails, including the North Shore Trail.

The city borders Lewisville and Flower Mound, and Denton is to the north. Here are all the cities I work in. If you'd like to stop by the office and talk, call or text me at 469-441-8890, email me at veronica@veronicayeary.com, or send me a message.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a train from Highland Village?

Yes. The Highland Village/Lewisville Lake station on the A-train opened in 2011 and connects toward Denton and toward Carrollton, where it links up with DART. There are also DCTA buses and, since 2021, an on-demand ride service you book through an app.

Why do so few homes sell here?

Because the city is small: 6.5 square miles, and almost one of them is water. Only a little inventory moves at a time. If you're buying, it pays to be ready to act when the right house shows up; if you're selling, you have less direct competition than you think.
